The call-for-entries seeks musical works that leverage technology
and can include everything from solo instrumentation to small
chamber ensemble. Special consideration will be given for works
leveraging advanced networking technology and collaborative-distant
performance. The selected works will be performed as part of the
New World Symphony’s (NWS) biennial Internet2 Performing Arts
Workshop, a special concert featuring multimedia compositions and
short experimental films for HD/4K video and up to seven discrete
channels of audio that will take place during the Workshop, scheduled
for April 26–27, 2014, at the New World Center in Miami Beach, FL.
Compositions for consideration must be uploaded in lower-resolution version to Vimeo.
Downmixed works should be rendered at 1080p with 2-channel audio. Multichannel Blu-
Ray, DVD-Video, and/or DVD-Audio can also be provided. Scores, where applicable,
must also be provided as a downloadable PDF file.
To submit a composition, simply send an electronic mail to both Colby Leider
(cleider (at) miami (dot) edu) and Justin Trieger (justin.trieger (at) nws (dot) edu) with a link to the
Vimeo rendering (and PDF score, if applicable). Please use the subject line “NWS
INTERNET2 SUBMISSION”. Please contact both Colby and Justin with any questions.
Submissions must be received by January 3rd, 2013.
