UNT: Assistant Professor in Composition

Duties: Teach composition lessons and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Courses will include orchestration, composition seminar, and may also include courses in other areas within the candidate’s specialization. Maintain a public profile as a composer and participate in academic activities.

Qualifications: An active composer of concert music with an established career of national note, or evidence of potential for such recognition, such as major prizes or awards. Teaching experience at an advanced level is required.  The candidate must hold an earned doctorate at the time of appointment, or must have established a record of performances by top-tier performing ensembles sufficient for it to be considered in lieu of earned doctorate.

Rank, Salary: Full-time, tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
