Welcome to the new SEAMUSONLINE!
Welcome to Seamus' new face. Along with it being redesigned, over the course of 2004 we will see SEAMUSONLINE supercharged to provide on-line secure transactions, a prolific Seamus members -only portal and a host of other new features:
Simplified Operation
SEAMUSONLINE has been simplified to provide the information you seek faster. Navigation has been made easier with a reduction of first tier menu bar selections. Nothing has been removed, and you will notice that a topside info bar will give you an outline of each menu selection's content when your mouse is passed over the main categories. Try it now - the info bar is active on every single page!
Also check out the other new features, including an expanded link section, PDF format attachments for membership and CD purchases, Seamus Award recipient profiles as well as an updated members directory
On-line Credit/Debit Card Transactions
In the coming months you will not only be able to become a member on-line, but renew your membership, register for the national conference and submit pieces to that festival as well - all via a 128 bit encrypted secure server! The Society needs to recognize Elainie Lillios for authoring this system. Our only chellenge now remains in orchestrating the installation in a manner befitting Elainie's forthright design.
The SEAMUS Store
The Seamus Store shopping cart storefront will be a marketplace for all things electroacoustic, including the SEAMUS CD series, conference tee-shirts and other hardgoods - all via 128 bit secure credit/debit card transactions. The Seamus Store wil be installed in the fall of 2004.
Meet the Performer Database
The Performer Database is a new initiative for SEAMUS members planned for the fall of 2004 which will focus on connecting composers of Electroacoustic Music and performers who either specialize in our music, or are interested in performing EA music. This flexible user-driven database will be a part of our planned web enhancements. The performer database will be installed in the summer of 2004.
Members Area
A wealthy MEMBERS-ONLY portal will provide a host of services and benefits exclusively for registered SEAMUS members. The portal will include upcoming event schedules, downloadable PDFs of past Seamus Newsletters and Journals, even technical papers from previous National Conferences. Among other features, the members area will also become your gateway to the SEAMUSforum.
Fotos
We've augmented the SEAMUSONLINE experience with the addition of photos where ever possible. Along those lines, don't miss the slideshow gallery found on the history page in the ABOUT SEAMUS section and we encourage all of you to send foto additions for that to this address click
Printable Attachments
All printable forms (Membership Application and SEAMUS CD Series purchase form) are now PDFs and Adobe Acrobat will be required to open them. If you don't already have it, a free copy of Acrobat Reader can be downloaded here
Members Directory
Oh yes, and then there's that. Terribly outdated, and I look to the SEAMUS membership for help. Please send requests in writing to have your name added and EITHER a web OR email link installed (sorry, not both). click here for a request.
Keep your eyes open for these and other new features in the coming year and thank you for visiting SEAMUSONLINE.
The webmaster also wishes to thank Stephen David Beck for all of his assiance, not to mention all of his orginal content in the creation of the new SEAMUSOLINE. Thank you , Steve. It couldn't have happened without you.
Notes on viewing this site:
There are no advertising pop-up windows in SEAMUSONLINE. However, all links that take you out of the site are configured to open in their own window and may conflict with any of pop-up filters you may have installed.
Also be aware that the type size the home page is intentionally set smaller to that in the rest of the site. It you wish to view SEAMUSONLINE in the manner in which it was intended, as a reference your type size settings should be such that the exclamation mark in the headiine above "Welcome to the new SEAMUSONLINE!" should lie as close as your browser will allow to three quarters between the O and the N the word ONLINE above it, and:
|
This text should be on two lines, not three!
