Un Jardin is a three movement set of fixed media works, each relying solely on recordings of the piano.  The first movement, Un Jardin, takes an arch form and romantic style, beginning with a long passacaglia of piano harmonics.  The second movement, Ceres, named after the minor planet between Mars and Jupiter, combines samples of piano clusters to form a continuous wall of sound.  The work ends with Quasi Sostenuto, a mellow, polytonal weaving of chords progressions.  After the work was completed, my father, artist and UMBC professor Vin Grabill added visuals.
